A Place For You

“You need this.”  The look on his face, the tone of his voice, and those three words inspired me to finish strong. There are three events in a Powerlifting meet: squat, bench press, and deadlift. After the bench press, I learned I was in third place. My heart leapt, but I didn’t expect that placement to hold. Deadlifts were next, and several women had heavier lifts than I could pull, so I couldn’t see myself earning a place. For my final lift, 280lbs were on the bar, the announcer called my name; I lifted that weight and prayed for third place. But, at that moment, I was half a point away from second with no idea that a secured spot on the podium was waiting.

A PLACE FOR YOU

“There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”

John‬ ‭14:2-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There is a place for you and me. The Blood of Jesus secures our spot. We don’t have to compete over a place in Him. There has always been more than enough room in His heart, hands, and home. Jesus said, “I will come and get you.” We don’t have to worry about missing out. His promise still stands. He is Faithful and True to His word.

Face, Voice, Words

The look on God’s face, the sound of His voice, and the power of His word changes the lives of all who spend time with Jesus. He makes space, offers mercy, and has grace for us. May we seek His face in prayer, listen to His voice in the quiet, and hide His words in our hearts. And may we rejoice over the promise that there is a place for us!

Let’s Reflect:

How do you feel about there being more than enough room? Have you ever felt undeserving of a place in His house? Be open with Him about how you feel. Take it to Him in prayer.

Let’s Pray:

Precious Lord, we are grateful for the reminder that there is a place for us. Each one of us. Life’s daily ups and downs can cause us to forget that this world is not our home. May we meditate on Your promise that You will come for us. In Your name, we pray. Amen.
