Am the only one who takes time to Google my symptoms? Today, I experienced feeling warm, dizzy, and exhausted. I was uncertain whether it was due to heat exhaustion or dehydration. To put my mind at ease, I decided to see what Dr. Google says. After searching for a bit, I turned on the air conditioning, hydrated myself, and elevated my feet. Surprisingly, within an hour, I started feeling much better and more like my usual self. It’s incredible how water, rest, and cool air can transform a situation.
Spiritual Dehydration
Living Water has the power to rehydrate our souls. And it starts with plunging deeply into the Word. In Scripture, we find the resources needed to hydrate our overheated, parched, and weary souls in the Words of Jesus.
“Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” John 7:38 NLT
Anyone who believes in me, that includes you and me. Our beliefs provide more than a sip of His presence, it gives us access to flowing rivers of living water. This water offers a connection with God that never runs dry. His Living Water is a wellspring of hope that bubbles up within us, refreshing our souls and giving us everlasting oneness with Him.
All it Takes
This water is a source of strength that supports us through our everyday struggles. It is a constant flow of peace and joy that sustains us throughout life’s trials. All it takes to receive these benefits is belief.
This doesn’t mean we will never experience moments of spiritual thirst again. Life’s trials can still leave us feeling parched. But instead of pondering what Dr. Google says, may we return to Scripture, the source of Living Water. There, at that river, we can replenish ourselves and continue our journey, reinvigorated by the life-giving water Christ offers.
