The View At The Top

By night’s end, my fitness watch logged 8242 steps and 36 flights of stairs. The powerlifting team received an incredible gift: an overnight stay at Caves Branch Jungle Lodge. This lodge is the ultimate definition of rustic luxury. Climbing up to the treehouse was arduous, but the view at the top proved breathtaking. Isn’t that like life? The path we’re on might be difficult for a season, but the perspective gained from the circumstances God gifts to us is priceless.

“The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭32‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The Best Pathway

The best pathway for me might be different than the best pathway for someone else. God’s choices are based on the purpose and plan He has for our lives.  His advice, care, and concern guides our way if we allow it. Surrendering our hearts to His will and way may not change our current life circumstances, but it will change us. There is a peace that comes when we stop fighting. For some of us, all we’ve ever known is the battlefield. Others of us didn’t discover hardship until we encountered adulthood. But no matter how we get onto the pathway He laid out for us, the view at the top is worth the journey.

The View at the Top

Looking out, down, or up, the beauty of creation inspires peace, contentment, and joy. Being at one with our surroundings aligns us with His presence. The heavens proclaim His glory and the skies display His craftsmanship. We move from theory to reality when we relax in His trustworthy arms. Our hearts may ache after a long hard climb, but our souls find peace as we breathe deeply, express gratitude, and appreciate the view from the top. We may not get to live on the mountain in that space of His perfection, but the healing received there can shepherd our hearts to the next lesson He has for us.
