25 Reminders of who He Says We Are

Who are you? There are days when I struggle to remember all of who I am. It’s not like I have forgotten my name or where I come from. I don’t mean it like that. What I mean is that I have forgotten who I am in Christ. Reading through the first two chapters of Ephesians in different translations of the bible I was able to find reminders of our identity as believers in Christ. Here’s what I’ve discovered:

  1. I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm
  2. I am united with Christ
  3. I am loved
  4. I am chosen to be holy and without fault in His eyes
  5. I am lavished with His glorious grace
  6. I am free
  7. I am redeemed
  8. I am forgiven
  9. I am showered with kindness, wisdom, and understanding
  10. I am informed about the mystery of His gospel
  11. I am united with Christ
  12. I am saved
  13. I am His rich and glorious inheritance
  14. I am full and complete in Christ
  15. I am alive
  16. I am seated with Him in the heavenly realms
  17. I am a future example of the wealth of Your grace and kindness
  18. I am God’s masterpiece
  19. I am made new
  20. I am no longer an outsider
  21. I am filled with His peace
  22. I am empowered by the Holy Spirit to come to the Father
  23. I am a member of God’s family
  24. I am a part of His house built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets
  25. I am a part of the body of believers in the process of becoming a holy temple for the Lord.

It’s been a great experience for me to read through them, speak them aloud, and pray through the ones that are hard to say to myself.  I challenge you to do the same and if you do take on this challenge please let me know how it changed your self-perception.

Let’s Reflect:  Read through the list slowly three times. Write down the ones that speak to you. Use them as daily affirmations and allow them to seep deeply into the core of your being.

Let’s Pray: God, we are grateful to walk in the same power that raised Your Son from the dead and seated Him in a place of honor in the heavenly realms. Lord, all things have been placed under Your authority for the benefit of the church.  Lord, You have made us full and complete as You fill all things everywhere with Yourself. God, I pray that from Your glorious, unlimited resources that You will empower me with inner strength through Your Spirit. Heavenly Father, all glory be to You, Who is able, through Your mighty power at work within us, able to accomplish infinitely more than we could ask or imagine. Glory to You, throughout every generation, now and forever and ever. Amen.

  1. Thank you for taking the time to remind us of who we are in Christ. Like you, I too struggle to remember where the base of my identity is found. Thank you again. I will be rereading these and speaking them over my family and myself.
