About

I hope that all is well with you, dear friend! This space is dedicated to discovering the power of godly habits.  Eight years ago I started my fitness journey on a dare. I was challenged to walk for 30 minutes a day for 100 days. I managed to meet that challenge and from there a habit was formed.

As I walked I had time to enjoy nature, pray, and think my own thoughts. Over the years my goals have changed and my habits had to evolve as well. I pray that you’ll join me on this spiritual, physical, and emotional  journey so that we can grow and discover what we’re capable of together!

  1. I have had a similar journey as well. Thought I would check a 5K off my bucket list. But then it turned into a 10K and a half marathon. God began to open my eyes to powerful parallels between running and our spiritual journey with Him! I wrote a devotional book that highlights these parallels. Even those who aren’t runners have been greatly encouraged by it. Blessings to you on your fitness journey with God.

  2. I just finished your YouVersion study, Walk Fit. Walk Worthy. I must say I am inspired, not just to move my body more but to go a little deeper in the word. I am inspired to be more intentional in how I respond and in how I see people!

  3. I have struggled for many years with body image issues. Sadly this was also passed to my two girls, now grown adult women. I want to break the cycle! As a 51 yo nana of three amazing angels, I want to honor God in all I do. This should also include movement!!

    God bless you for inspiration

  5. Hi, Alida. I stopped here after reading & listening to day 1 of the YouVersion Bible plan “Walk Fit. Walk Full.” I love to be outdoors… gardening, walking, riding my bike, swimming… I’ve even daydreamed about walking on a marathon(s) after reading that people have begun doing it in their 80’s. [This is the first time I’ve dared to even let someone else know! 🙂 ] I’m 57 years old; I lost my only child about 3 years ago, and I’m trying to find meaning to the events in my life… While I browse your site and read these entries, tears fill my eyes. It’s wonderful how God provides resources to us just when we are ready for them. God bless you and your followers. Today I thank God for all of you.

    1. Dear sister, your words are a blessing and a confirmation for me to keep pressing forward. My deepest condolences on the loss of your only child. May your determination to stay active and find meaning in all that you do bring peace to your heart and glory to our Father!
